My Home Away from Home

Hi all,

Here is my apartment. It is one room with a bath (no kitchen although I do have a refrigerator and a friend gave me a microwave). It is very comfortable and quiet. I get cable tv (seven of the channels are in English). I have CNN, BBC (news from England), HBO and Cinemax with English/American movies and Chinese subtitles. Plus, I have internet access where I can get satellite radio; I listen to a classical station out of Vermont. I must explain the Pooh pillow. One of my students gave it to me to make me feel more at home. So, for a year, this is a fine setup. It takes me 20-25 minutes to walk to school in the morning and for other more distance needs I have friends who take me by scooter or car. For breakfast I often get a ham, cheese, and egg on wheat bread sandwich at a local place which costs 30NT or about $1.00. Oh, the bathroom is very typical of foreign residences--the toilet and shower are separated by a curtain with the drain on the floor. This is what my niece, Chelsea, had in Norway. It really is a fine setup.
