All Kinds of Food

The roots in the top picture are taro which is very starchy in consistency. I had taro soup a few weeks ago and the soup is purple as is the inside of the root. It was delicious. I have peeled the taro root on the left so you can see the edible part. One of the teachers at my school is from the mountains and he has made it his goal to have me try all of the delicacies from his area. So far I have had baked sweet potatoes, taro, Moon cakes, and two different types of peanut candy. All were very tasty.

I took the second picture for Sheila W. who is like me and has Ophidiophobia. This street restaurant sells fried cobra.

Linda, I'm not afraid of snakes but I don't think I could deal with this one. If you're brave enough to try this one, let me know the outcome!
