A Traditional Taiwanese Wedding

In the following pictures, you will see the wedding that I attended on Saturday, November 11. The bride and groom are both successful professionals in Taipei but came home to their small village for their traditional wedding. The day started when the groom rode in the ox-drawn cart to pick up his bride. On the way back to his grandmother's home (where the wedding was to be held) a small parade formed with cars preceeding the cart and firecrackers were thrown. Once the bride reaches the home, she steps on the tile and cracks it and steps over the fire in the bucket for good luck. She then proceeds into the home. Here the bride and groom have tea with both sets of parents to seal the marriage.
