Lotus Lake in Kaohsiung is a popular site with many temples on the shore. First you see the Information Center, the Spring and Autumn Pavilion dedicated to the God of War--Kuan Kung, the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas (enter the dragon and exit the tiger for good luck), the Temple of Enlightenment, and Xuan Tian Shang-di--the Supreme Emperor of the Dark Heaven and the guardian of the north.
