Fort San Domingo and the British Consulate, Danshui

The fort was built by the Spanish during their occupation (1626-41). The Dutch took over and rebuilt the fort in 1642. You can see the original Chinese South gate, the beautiful former consulate which was completed during the reign of Victoria (see picture 9), and the Dutch influence throughout.
