Wuchang Temple in JiJi

On September 21, 1999, a terrible earthquake hit this region of Taiwan. The Wuchange Temple callapsed leaving the temple in ruins. A new temple is in the planning stages, but for now a temporary temple has been erected across the street.

Bananas are found everywhere in this farming community. We tasted several varieties, fresh and deep-fried. One was called the apple banana which was reddish in color and tasted like apple.

Here we are riding our bikes under a canopy of camphor trees. This is called the Green Tunnel of Nantou.

How sad the temple was destroyed, it had such a graceful shape.
I loved the colors. Is the new temple similar in appearance or something modern.
