The Wind Lions of Kinmen

Kinmen originally was covered with trees, but Koxinga's army cut down most of the trees to build ships. Thus, Kinmen has been subjected to flying sands and pebbles from the strong winter winds. Houses, humans, and animals have been hurt/damaged as a result. The people of Kinmen prayed for help from this destruction to the gods, the Wind Lions. You see the Wind Lions all over Kinmen and they take many forms.
