The Dragonboat festivities

The Anping Canal was full of festivities in anticipation of the various Dragonboat races. It was a fun atmosphere.

This is the Sheng-li team getting ready for our competition. I'm in the far back. It was great fun and I feel very fortunate to have been part of the team.

At the end of the evening we met a Canadian (from Guelph) English teacher, Don. He has been teaching in Kaohsiung and is leaving soon to teach in Dubai. He showed us his home which was full of Asian antiquies and other interesting pieces he found in Taiwan.
